Design and Development of an e-Powered Inter Row Weeder for Small Farm Mechanization

Mechanical weed control has become a more efficient and economical method over the past few years. This study presents concept of an e-power source weeding mechanism to carry out operations in crop rows with spacing 30 cm. An e-powered mechanical inter-row weeder was designed, developed, evaluated for sandy loam soil conditions. The result indicates that speed operation drum diameter significantly affected power consumption efficiency at 1% 5% significance levels. average efficiency, field capacity, plant damage were observed as 91.68%, 0.049 ha/h, 3.18% operating 3 km/h. 189 W. capacity developed be 3–4 times than wheel hoe, leading reduction required manpower cost operations. combination tool reduces chances escape enhances efficiency. Moreover, e-drive system vibration improved work operator. Overall, potential effective small-scale farmers their less drudgery higher
